Our story

Irish pubs are renowned across the world for their colorful characters and friendly atmosphere. The Irish Village in Dubai is no exception. From the original idea of Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of Dubai Duty Free. It has never looked back.

Since its opening in October 1996, The Irish Village has always been looked upon as a small piece of Ireland in the heart of Dubai. Designed in the form of a typical Irish village street, its authenticity comes from the use of Irish materials, such as Liscannor stone, and craftsmanship used in its construction, all of which have been imported from the Emerald Isle.

The Village terrace has been expanded several times to accommodate the steady influx of patrons, and today, can accommodate up to 3,500 people during special events and concerts.

Over the course of time, many famous performers have played at The Village, including Sir Bob Geldof, Finbar Fury, The Human League, The Pretenders, Paolo Nutini, Macy Gray, and more. The Irish Village remains one of the most permanent and popular fixtures in the Dubai leisure scene.

Now, The Irish Village opens it second home at Riverland, bringing in the traditional wooden pub steeped in its own character and has its own story to tell. So, whether you decide to sit inside the pub or out on the terrace overlooking the river, let the traditional Irish music entertain you while sampling authentic meals served with a warm and friendly Irish smile – what better way of experiencing Ireland in Dubai!
